When Drake asked his question, Twilight's curiosity perked up a bit. She motioned for Drake to sit down, an offer Drake was quick to accept, settling into the chair near the couch where Twilight sat. Seated, Drake now asked his question.
"Seeing as you are more or less the head immortal in this entire town, I figured your the best source of info. If you don't mind me asking, I was wondering how many immortals there are here, exactly."
A question he'd been meaning to ask for some time now. Drake knew of a few. Twilight, himself, the vampire Vara, and that miserable werewolf, the one Drake met near the lake. Other than that, he'd sniffed out scents, but he wasn't entirily sure how many exactly there were. And, with Twilight here, it seemed an awfully perfect time to ask.

Though it was still very early in the morning, some people were already out and about whether it was driving to their job or an early morning jog. Nix continued, finally letting up the pace once in the Black Brook Place neighborhood so that he wouldn't be out of breath when he arrived on Twilight's door step. The blood was still racing through his head when he thought he came across yet another unfamiliar warewolf scent but was not about to waste time investigating it as a warewolf this close to daybreak. Hopefully though if it was another immortal, this one would be as easy going as the other's. Nix stopped at the edge of Twilight's property back in the trees so as not to be seen and made sure that the cost was clear and that none of the neighbors were awake yet. When satisfied he nonchalantly walked through the cool and crisp morning air to the back door and sat down silently on his haunches. Chances were one of her dogs would notice he was there if neither Twilight nor Drake did by the smell. Though if nobody opened the door in 30 seconds he would lightly scratch at it to get someone's attention.

Twilight’s brows furrowed thoughtfully at Drake’s question. This question she wasn’t quite sure the answer to. It seemed that a few immortals had slipped past her watchful gaze, and some seemed to have left already.
”Well, you and Vara are the only vampires I’ve come in contact with so far. There seem to be about five werewolves around though. I haven’t met all of them though. Phoenix and I are the only ones who pop up often.” Twilight said, still looking thoughtful. Some of the werewolves in Hush Hills she had only scented. This bothered her that she hadn’t tracked the others down yet. As long as bodies didn’t start showing up, this would be forgiven. Suddenly Thor’s ears perked, and Twilight went on red-alert. The big dog jumped to his feet, letting out a short, alerting bark.
Twilight also jumped to her feet, and when she did, the other three dogs followed suit. Thor’s bark wasn’t warning, or concerned. This was a good thing. Twilight took a deep breath through her nose, and a familiar scent wafted faintly to her. A small smile came upon her features.
”Well speak of the devil…” Twilight murmured. She now turned to look at Drake.
”Here, come meet Nix.” Twilight said, heading off toward the back of the house. At the last moment though, Twilight changed courses, heading for the bedroom. Thor and the rest of the dogs headed down the hallway to the back door, and started barking at the sight of Nix in his wolf form. Twilight soon re-appeared, this time some cut off sweat pants draped over her arm. With light, easy steps, Twilight quickly reached the door, the dogs parting the way for her. She stepped outside, a slightly sarcastic, yet welcoming smile on her face.
”I assume you’ve already discovered the commotion we’ve created this morning. Get some clothes on, and we’ll talk inside.” Twilight said, placing the pants draped over a wicker chair that rested near the door. Four furry heads poked past Twilight’s legs, watching Nix. Twilight then turned around, and the dogs scattered to make way for her. She shut the door behind her to give Nix some privacy, and went back to Drake.
”That would be Nix. It’s been mostly Nix and I taking care of the town. He’s the closest thing I have to a Beta.” Twilight explained while she waited.
OOC: Want to bring Shawn in now Ty?

Drake smiled.
"Only Vara and I eh? Good. Less fighting to worry about. And five werewolves... interesting." He laughed a bit. Those warmblooded wolves were much better company than vampires.
As he finished laughing, Drake's senses perked up. The smell of another werewolf floated to his nose. A scent which was strangely familiar. He racked his memory for where he had smelt it before, and remembered. The werewolf, by the lake. The oh so cheery one.
Twilight jumped up as well, alert and ready. She smiled though, as she recognized the scent, and started walking to the door, obviously to greet him. Drake sat within the room, quietly, waiting for Twilight to return.
She returned, explaining Phoenix's position as the de-facto beta of her pack. Drake nodded in response... then his senses perked up again. This time, another scent... another werewolf. "Twilight... do you smell that..?"

It wasn't long before Nix heard a bark from one of the dogs and the very light and quick footsteps of Twilight heading towards the door. But was a little unsure when they suddenly grew fainter. He looked over his shoulders and cranned his neck towards the neighboring houses to make sure nobody was suspiciously looking in his direction. Finally Phoenix heard the footsteps again this time heading strait for the door. At hearing the knob start to twist open he stood up and when the door was opened he had lifted his left front foot to take a step into the house and out of the open, foggy area. He figured it would be best to morph inside the house but paused when Twi just laid some clothes down on the wicker chair next to him and shut the door again. Surely she didn't expect him to change out here. Not this close to dawn and in the ressidential area. Nix scratched at the door but nobody came to open it. He sighed and tensed up his muscles for the coming morph. Again he did a carefull 360 scan of his surroundings and still wasn't sure about the unfamiliar werewolf scent. He deffinately didn't wish to be caught offgaurd half morphed. Phoenix sort of jumped onto his hind legs and he found this to be most convenient way to moph quickly when not being chased or in a fight. The hair quickly recinded, teeth shrank, bones pop back into human skeletal form, and as usuall, the lack of clothing when finished. He pulled on the sweats and hurridly rushed inside and shut the door silently behind him. "Yea i did as a matter of fact. and it wasn't very pleasent. though i did hav the enjoyment of getting to finish off one of the men. I tried my best to cover everything up. Now hows about sombody fill in the gaps."

Twilight instantly went on alert when Drake asked the question. She put her nose to the air, taking a whiff. Something was out of place. An unfamiliar scent wafted on the air, just barely detectable. A low growl formed in her throat, accompanied by Thor’s warning growl. Twilight cursed herself silently for letting herself get distracted. She turned her attention to Drake, nodding grimly. She stalked over to a nearby window, silently keeping watch for any moving shadows that seem out of place, while waiting for Nix to get inside.
Ajax barked suddenly when the back door opened, and all the dogs got to their feet. Nix then walked in, mouth already going. Twilight let a small, amused smile form on her face, before turning around to face him after he had stopped talking. This would be a quick explanation.
”To give you the short of it, Drake here was attacked by a Ravenwood team. They didn’t last long, but they got a shot off at Drake. Special vamp ammo. So I got him back to my house, and here we are.” Twilight finished, rattling off the story quickly, not wasting time on a lengthy tale. Nix could catch up later when they had time to sit and chat.
”But we also have another problem. We have a strange wolf running around, and I for one want to see who it is and what they are doing here.” Twilight added. This was directed mostly at Nix. Drake wasn’t in the best of shape right now, so if anyone went with her to find this new werewolf, it would most likely be Nix. She looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to volunteer himself to go with her.

Drake smiled, and ignoring that pain in his side, and stood. "I'll help you check it out. You know me, mister social and all. New immortals are always fun to mess with. Ah, and don't try to stop me. I'm going to look."
In any case, just because he was shot didn't mean he would be a burden if the newcomer was stupid enough to be hostile. That bath had done him good, and besides... with two werewolves here, it was extremely unlikely anyone would last long enough to take advantage of his weakened state. "What about you?" Drake asked Nix.

Phoenix pondered on what his leader had just said and questioned the possible hazards to come if special opps teams started to swarm Hush Hills in efforts to incapacitate and vanquish all immortals, at least vampires anyway. They might start sending residents to live in the town for a couple of months to do scouting and maybe mysteriously cause suspected immortals to disappear. Something that would have to be worried about some other time, because currently, there was a lost werewolf nearby. Nix had taken note of it before he stepped in... "Well if you don't mind Twi, I'd at least like to have a bit of water first before I go running around again. I after all just did get done cleaning up gun fight with four casualties." With that he started going through the cupboards looking for where the glasses were not making a sound and filled it with some tap water once he did find a glass. He drained it in one gulp. "I don't think that this 'intruder' is too much to worry about now. I'm not saying we don't have to go out now, but if he or she was a threat I think they would have jumped me perhaps. And maybe instead we should stalk him/her and see where they go. Maybe we'll find out where they live." True he wasn't the alpha and wouldn't have the final say he did feel that since he was the second-longest member of the pack that he did deserve to speak his voice. "But whatever you want to do, alpha." Nix, for now, ignored Drake's eagerness to confront another immortal and the flesh wound that would likely handicap him should something tragic start to happen.

Twilight gave Drake a narrowed look when he said he was going to look, and to not try and stop him. The doctor inside of her was rising up. He should be resting, she didn’t care how old he was or how powerful. Her body stiffened slightly as she thought about restraining him. The thought didn’t last long though, she didn’t have time to hold him down and knock him out. Besides, she didn’t think that would be very beneficial to their relationship, and Twilight definitely wanted this vampire on her side. Her muscles relaxed, and she sighed.
”Fine.” She said shortly, then Nix started to speak. She nodded as he stated his thirst, and waited for him to be finished. The boy wasn’t in her house that often, so finding the glasses seemed to take slightly longer than normal. However, he finished rapidly, and started speaking again, all while Twilight stood silently, waiting.
After he was done, Twilight nodded, a slight smile creeping onto her features. For one who had so little action tonight, he sure wasn’t in a hurry for conflict. She had expected Nix to want to jump right into a possibly dangerous situation. Why the change tonight? Drake on the other hand was the exact opposite, begging for a little tussle, and he had just been rushed to safety after almost being burned alive. However, if Nix wanted to avoid a fight, she wouldn’t force him right now. This wasn’t a situation that required immediate and harsh actions.
”With the numbers we have right now, the wolf is definitely not a threat. I’m getting tired of random immortals intruding on my territory, so I want to have a chance to speak with them tonight.”
Twilight now turned, speaking to Nix.
” Nix, if you want to stay here and hold the fort down, that’s fine. Drake and I will circle around the house. Turn on the front porch lights, and open the door. This should provide a distraction. Timing would be nice, so that the front door is opening as the doors we go out are opening. If it sounds like we need help, I think you know what to do.”
Twilight turned to face Drake now, addressing him.
”Drake, we can take the back door. You go left, I’ll go right.” Twilight said. There was a slight question in her voice, giving him a chance to change the plan. Twilight might be Nix’s alpha, but she knew better than to think Drake should take orders from her.
