Big entrances were not Raine thing. Neither was attention. But today...it was different. She had a plausible excuse, right? Angry shouts of irritated pedestrians rang out in unity. Skittering foot steps and curses could be heard from inside the store. Collected couples of "I'm Sorrys" and "Excuse mes" followed shortly after. Then a crash sounded from the entrance of the shop. A thick rack of magazines went down. A girl with brilliant red hair dashed out from beneath the tumbling biweeklies and gossip articles. "Ouch", the word escaped her worry lined lips. In a flash she ducked behind a shelf of hiking boots and out of sight from the general public eye.
All she had come out her for was to take a look at her new town. No way, had she expected this. Nearly running into some one she thought she had known and disturbing the peace. All in one day? Raine figured she held some sort of reccord by now. By now, she was sure that no one was comming after her to get their vengence. For she had ruined a lot of people's shopping days. A sigh from the escapee seemed very appropriate in this situation, though she highly doubted she could manage one.
Raine finally got her legs moving again and she made herself walk out and away from her momentary hiding place. Let's be inconspicuous, she thought, and with that she casually crossed the store to a more comfortable section for her. The camping section. Or at least that's how she referred to it. There were tents, masquito nets, tent stakes, and sunblock here. A good place to start pretending like she actully came in here to shop. The fact that this was the nearest store she could get to was easily dismissed as she began browsing. Raine picked up a bottle of lotion. It had been colder from where she come from, so she had a harder distinguishing the difference between the two products. Turning the bottle over and over in her hand she murmured a question to herself, "So it's sunscreen or tanning lotion?"

Another day, another uneventful day. Or at least it was, until Drake looked over the store shelf he was looking through, spotting a girl, around his visual age, running from a magazine rack as it crashed to the ground. He couldn't hel but crack a smile. Nice
She ducked behind another shelf, rendering his view of her gone, but Drake knew the layout of the store well enough by now that she was likely heading for the camping section place. Outdoors gear.
Sure enough, as he started heading that way, and saw her stop there. Drake wondered what a girl of her structure was dong presicly in this section in the first place, considering she didn't look outdoorsy, as opposed to that one guy who came in the other day that bought a suspcious amount of fertilizer.
When Drake saw what the girl waslooking at, he about punched himself. Duh, of course. He quickly came up with a perfect conversation starter, and walked towards hr, stopping on her right, apprering to gaze at the shelf next to her.
He hoped his vampiric charms worked, like usual.
"Hmm. I'd go with sunscreen. You ain't getting much of a tan here." Drake smiled her way, and continue looking for nothing in particular.

Snapping open the top of the bottle she took a sniff. Bananas, she thought, delighted. It smelled just like them. Curious. With a click, the bottle was closed again. A smooth, male voice startled Raine from her close examination of the lotion bottle. Lurching backwards she fell back a few steps. Her head snapped into the direction of the voice, as she caught herself. She didn't truely look at the man or she would have noticed that he looked so unlike any one else she had met before. And if she had really listened to what he had said she could have considered the casual tone in his voice. But she didn't. She hadn't even heard the advance he had made toward her. "I'm sorry!", she began, "if you're here about the magazines or . . .if I shoved you, it was an accident!"
"It won't happen again I swear!", she rambled on, "I'll pick the magazines up! I'm leaving soon and I won't cause any more problems. . ."

Heinrich smiled at the girl, and stood up.
"Well, since I don't work here, and I wasn't shoved, I thought it was pretty funny. The staff need to work. They look like nothing ever happens here to warrent their attention anyways."
Heinrich was a bit weirded out. No human resisted his charms, even iof they wernt paying attention. Or, at least none so far. Strange.

The shock on Raine's face disapeared in an instant as she finally caught her balance and began to study the man. He was beautiful beyond compare, yet that didn't seem to register with Raine. She was more perplexed by his amusement with her. I guess a did make more of a scene than i realized, her expression grew thoughtful. Conspicuously, she eyed her surroundings. Then in a quick motion her index finger sprung up to her lips in mock caution, as if shushing him. Looking both ways, suspiciously, before she spoke, Raine took a swift step towards the man. "What are you trying to do? Get me caught." It was more of a retorical question than anything. ooc:// (That's okay...mines a bit short, too)

Drake laughed, and ignored the retoic nature of the question "I doubt anyone would get angry over you knocking something over as trivial as a rack. 'Oh noes, lets ban her from the store!' sounds a bit over the top."
Drake finally took the time to get a good look at the girl. Average body type, above average on looks, and the most eyecatching part, her hair.
"Nice hair, by the way," he said, fishing for a reason to talk. At least talking with a human was interesting. Vampires, they were normal, werewolves, they were jerks, minus Twilight. A strange conversation would benice.

A sly comment was bubbling its way up to the surface just before it was silenced. The man's last statement stopped her. Smiling sheepishly at the compliment, she brought her gaze down to her shoes. Warm blood rushed to her face leaving a pale pink blush across her cheeks. She fidgeted a little with the lotion bottle as she concentrated on how to respond. Raine wasn't much for flattery. It embarrassed her to no end.
"Thanks," she mumbled as she absentmindedly fingered the end of a thick tendril of red. Bright, blue eyes located the empty space the tanning lotion had previously occupied. A slender arm stretched across the distance and shoved the bottle back onto its shelf. Her pallid limb began to retreat back to her side but stopped. It then took a different course and reluctantly held itself in front of the man.
"I'm Raine," she introduced herself.

Drake smiled and took her hand. Instead of shaking it like she likely expected, he dropped to his knee and kissed it, much to the amusement of the store staff member that walked past.
"It is my pleasure, madam Raine."
He jumped up, a huge grin plastered across his face. "My name is Baron Heinrich Draco von Carstien. Nice to meet you, Raine."
Drake was a shameless flirt at his best, shy at his worst. And at this point in time, he was most defienitly close to his best.

Before Raine had any idea of what was going on the stranger in front of her, bent down on one knee and put his cold lips to her hand. There had been no warning and no time to pull away. Her fading blush returned with a vengeance and illuminated her cheeks. She was sure her face was bright red, by now. Heinrich Drake was up in a flash and was now adressing her as 'madam Raine'. She was so shocked she was numb. There was now, no more room for surprise. In fact, Raine was abslutely sure that there was nothing that any one could do or say that could embarrass her more.
Everything around her was a blur. All she could see was this Heinrich standing in front of her. Along with her reddened cheeks sat a dumbstruck expression. Raine was nearly positive she looked like an idiot just standing there. Her curiosity flared just about as much as her cheeks. They were burning by now. All she knew how to do was blink. He...just--oh my, the thought fluttered around in her head, incoherently. Then her head dipped down to look at her feet again, avoiding his eyes. This was turning out to be an odd day, indeed. Still grinning at Raine, Drake spoke,
"Did I say something wrong?" His face went from cheerful to serious in a flash. "I do hope not, madam. It wouldn't be good for my reputation." Drake stayed serious for a minute, be fore cracking a grin again. This Raine was quite the girl.
She shound't be so embarressed. After all, half the stores customers only came here because of him, Greg, one of the clerks, had said. As it was, he was already offered a job just to stand around and be there.

The small jaw bone of an even smaller girl, flexed, ever so slightly. Coherent thoughts finally broke through. Her head was reeling with questions as she listened to Heinrichs's smooth tone rise and fall and watched his beautiful grin disappear and reappear. Although his formality sparked her interest, she was unable to comment on it.
Finally, Raine found her voice, "No. . .nothing wrong," she stammered. In an attempt to keep up the too casual charade she forced her eyes to roll.
The hope that the blushing clue of her remaining embarrassment had vanished was immediately crushed as the warmth in her cheeks continued to burn. Flirting, of course, was the last thing on her mind and was the one thing that she was the worst at. He just has to flirt doesn't he? Raine's scorched face suddenly morphed into a thoughtful expression. Closed eyes relaxed out of their squint. It took a lot of effort to block out the staring shoppers and the curious employees.

Drake frowned. "No, seriously, I've done something. Whats wrong?"
Noticing the staring customers, he called out over his shoulder. "Y'know, loitering is grounds to get kicked out of the store. Oh, and that, right over there? Best deal you'll ever get. I own like four." He pointed over at a display of some of the most expensive nonessential crap in the store...where most of the watching customers started heading for.

A quiet chuckle danced through the air as Raine listened to the pale man speak to the employees. Just like he owned the place, the thought ran through her mind. "I'm just not one for flattery." she murmured. Soft pink lids continued to rest upon ocean, blue eyes. Deep in thought. There was something Raine just couldn't put her finger on about this man. Just like this town...there was something different, abnormal, supernatural about him. She tended to get these hunches around cetain people. She was surprised about this hunch because of how normal Heinrich acted...well sort of normal.

Heinrich gasped playfully.
"Not one for flattery? Oh no, I've flattered you alot in the past five minutes, havn't I? Dear me, I'm sorry. I don't usually do that. I suppose it comes with you being...I don't know, kinda interesting."
Which was damn true. It may have been not even five minutes, but this Raine was amazingly interesting.
And that hair....All his time in America, hundreds of years traveling the world... And nothing quite like it came to mind. Alot of people were close, very close. But her? Unique.
Scary.

A single, right eye bow twitched as she glanced up at him curiously, again." Interesting, huh," it was more or less a question, " I could say the same thing about you, Baron Heinrich."
Raine was almost positive that she wasn't able to pronounce the rest of his title correctly and there was no point in offending such a polite man. Though her next statement was as curious as it was pointed.
" You're kinda strange. . .very old fashioned. . ." the comment trailed off. It appeared as if she had only been speaking to herself. It took her a few seconds to gather her thoughts. Raine was day dreaming. She often caught herself doing this when something or someone fascinated or confused her. In this case, it was both.
"Crap, I have to go." Previous engagements had evaded her thoughts earlier but now she remembered how very late she was. But leaving Heinrich without an explanation bothered her a little more than she expected. With that she turned on her heels and headed straight for the door. I'm normally more polite than that, she thought to herself silently. Bizarre day.
