History: Drake was born as Heinrich Draco von Carstien-Cassul on the 23rd of December, 1308, in the nation of Germany. The first son of powerful baron Grevor von Carstien, and his beautiful wife the Baroness Contessa Cassul made him the heir of both the von Carstien and the Cassul fortunes once his parents died. This would eventully become meaningless.
During his time in grade school, Drake was sent to the most prestigous boarding school money could buy, located in Rome. Not only did Drake learn his schoolwork, the acadamy was also famous for its military backround, a trait his father greatly admired. Drake took the military courses, setting him on the path to become a Black Rider, a famouse group of calvary which was made up entirely of the sons of German nobles, fighting to prove their worth.
In his fifth year at his school, Drake became close friends with a group of boys simalar to him, the sons of powerful noblemen from Britain and Germany. The six of them bonded with each other quickly, their friendship became iron. It was Heinrich's greatest year, as for the first time, he had not just a true friend, but five!
During the last few years of attending the boarding school, before they turned eighteen, Drake's mother became ill with a very lethal diesese. At first, Drake was asked in a letter from his father to return home. However, three days later, as he was leaving, another letter arrived, telling him to stay home. His mother had denounced both von Carstien's on her death bed, and revealed she had a child with another Baron, and gave all her belongings to him. The Baron became enraged, and left, vowing to never see her again. Drake's father had not wanted him to go through the ordeal.
At this time, as an act of revenge on his mother for leaving both him and the Baron, he had the Cassul suffix officialy removed from his name. It was of little importance to anyone else, but to Drake, it was cutting the last ties he had with his mother.
Life continued for Drake, with both him and his friends leaving the boarding school. Not wanting to leave Drake, the others wrote to their fathers, convincing them to let them stay with him. The Baron was more than happy to let them stay with his son. Company was old these years, no one new came to the Carstien castle.
The next year, on Drake's nineteenth birthday, the he took his friends to Berlin to celebrate. They went to a gentleman's club owned by the boy's uncle, liquor houses that catered the Emperor of Germany himself, and the finest restraunt in the city. For hours they celebrated, drinking both the day and night away. The ringing of bells from the nearby cathedral marked the time as midnight. So the six of them, stumbleing along, began to look for their horses, where they had tied them up in the alley behind the restruant. But they were missing.
They looked, and looked, but finally agreed they must have been stolen. However, a small shadow, near a pipe within the alley way, detached itself from the wall. The friends, drunk, did not notice until it was too late.
For the shadow was anything but that. It was a vampire.
The creature took advantage of the six unprotected and drunked youths, and easily fed upon the blood of them as they tried to fight back. Only of the friends landed a blow: George Selwyn, the son of the British Duke of Wellingford. This was a mistake. The vampire spun quickly, and began to savagly beat George with its fists. The youth, already unsteady, fell, his head striking a loose brick in a wall. The sun of his eyes vanished, being replaced by emptyness. The vampire had killed him.
The others were to exausted to resist, and the vampire bit each and everyone of them a last time. Pain spread through each of their bodies, and all began to shriek. Citizens heard the noise, and alerted authorities, who went to investigate. They found the youths limp and unresisting, and propmtly took all to the Berlin hospital to be treated of their wounds.
Officialy, they had been robbed by a criminal, while the bites had been inflicted by a vicious dog the criminal had let loose on them. But the friends, Heinrich most of all, knew better. They didn't need the urge to bite the nurses and docters waiting on them to realize it. The fairy-tales of old were real. Vampires existed.
---
Years past. The friends did not age with time. Unsure what to do with their immortality, the friends went to various schools, did an assortment of jobs, and went to all the places they wanted. But the time flew by, and only one land remained. The British colonies of the Americas.
It was the 1700's now. Drake wished to go to the colonies, and see this "New World." However, his friends urged him not to go. But he refused. He wanted to. Reluctantly, the others agreed he should go, but that they wanted to stay in Europe. Drake decieded it was time to split up, and so they vowed to leave each other, and return to return to Germany after 200 years. So they set off, Heinrich going to the Americas, and the others splitting themselves between Asia, Austrailia, and the exotic parts of Europe.
Drake arrived in the America's 10 years before the start of the American revolution. When asked his reason for coming to such an unstable area, his only responce was adventure. Many belived him to be a mercenary, while others thought him a British spy. Either way, he soon came to the city of Boston, setteling there. Here, he heard of the colonist's troubles, and how they wished for revolution. At first, Drake thought, as the Baron von Carstien, that the "peasents" were overreacting. But living as one of them, he found that the wealthy Brits treated the American's like dirt, and Drake realized that the colonists were justified.
He found a group of unsettled colonists, planning a raid on the Boston harbor. Drake gained their trust, and joined them. Dressing as native americans, the group went to the harbor, and began to dump tea and other high value goods over the sides of the ships. This would later be known as the "Boston Tea Party."
Drake was one of the few who escaped the wrath of the British officials, harboring his new friends at his house, claiming that they were his servants, and for the first time proclaiming himself to be of German royalty. The Brits left him alone, and soon, his new friends were able to leave, and spread unrest throughout Boston.
---
The Revolutionary war had been raging across the Americas for some time now. Drake had joined up with the Continental Army, and rose quickly in the ranks. He went by the alias of Nathaniel Greene, and became a General and one of George Washington's greatest advisors. Battles he raged, losing and winning in turn. Eventually, the Continental army prevailed, and the colonists had their freedom. Drake withdrew from the military, supposedly dieing many years later, and became himself again.
---
More time went by. The war of 1812, Drake fought in. The invasion of Mexico. The Civil War. All these and more, Drake served. World War 1, he almost didn't fight. His mind was change, however, when he found that the leader of Germany was a decendent of his mother's illigitament son. He fought on the side of the allies, and was at the final battle of the war.
After WWI, Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany. Nazism spread like a wild fire there, and soon, they lauched an invasion into Poland. Drake wished to fight, but America, they did not want war so soon. So days, then weeks, then months, then finally years past, yet nothing happened. America wanted to stay neutral.
In 1940, Drake began to notice people look at him strangly. He asked some friends he had, who said it was his obvious German heritage. Many felt German's needed to leave the nation, but they couldn't as European blood had became so diluted and mixed, almost all Caucasians were German in some way. Even so, he became a loner, as more and more people became untrusting of him.
One day, Drake noticed something perculiar. Everytime he went outside, a car seemed to follow him. And even worse, it was the same car everytime. Eventually, Drake was certain it was following him, and so, he began to form a plan.
Three weeks after he noticed he was being watched, Drake decieded to walk casually down an ally. The car, of course, followed him to the ally, then stoped at the enterance. at the other end, Drake saw another car pull in front of it, and stopped as well. Behind him, he heard the sound of car doors opening and closing, and footsteps. In front of him, he saw people emerge from the car, and mimiced the sounds behind him. Drake stopped in the middle of the alley, and soon the footsteps stopped behind him, and the people stopped twenty feet in front of him. Obviously those behind him did the same.
Drake looked the men over in front of him. There were four, and, judging by the sound behind him, there were four more there. So, eight in all. The man closest to Drake in front, obviously the leader of the group, began to speak. He told Drake that they were from an organization called Ravenwood, and that they knew what Drake was. The other three in front of him took tommy guns from under their coats, as the first straigntend his fedora. The man gave Drake the ogre's choice: Come with them for experimintation, and die fast, or resist, and die slow. Drake chose the latter option. The men fired on him, both behind and front. Even Drake could not belive how he got out alive.
That was the first time his vampiric insticts really truly took over. At times, they showed, but at the moment Drake was backed into a corner with no other way out.
He slaughtered his attackers. Only the leader made it out alive, hopping into his car before Drake could reach him, leaving the rest of his men to their fates. That day, Drake did not go hungry. The seven bodies would sustain him for months. Drake took the car that that had boxed him in from behind, threw the bodies in, and took them to his house, hiding them in the fridge in his basement.
---
Fifteen months went by, and it was March, 1941. The man from Ravenwood had escaped, and had only now given his report. The Manager, as the leader of Ravenwood was known, became interested. However, around this same time, the President of the United States was looking for ways to join the war without angering the people. He went to the Manager, a close friend, and asked for help. The Manager found this to be the perfect opertunity.
He told the man who encountered Drake to give his report to the President, but to leave out the vampiric parts. In the end, the President had his idea. Detain this "Heinrich" and 'expose' him as a Nazi spy. It worked. America began to get ready for war.
To seal the deal, American officials in the president's bed went to Japan with a proposition. Attack America, and they would give Japan a share of whatever came out of the war. It worked. On December 7th, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor under orders from the President. At the same time, Ravenwood employees backed by CIA and FBI operatives attempted to place Drake under arrest under the charges of spying. Drake escaped however, and realized finally that America was going to try and kill him.
Around this time, one of his orignial friends contacted him. He said he had a plane for Drake, and could smuggle him out of the US and take him to Germany. In return, Drake would serve as a Nazi, and not just any Nazi. A direct subordinate to Adolf Hitler. Fearing for his life, Drake agreed, and this friend came and flew the two of them to Germany.
On their way to Germany, his friend told him how he had gone to one of Hitler's rallies, and joined the Nazi party right away. He told of how he fought in the invasion of Poland, as well as attacking France. He advanced through the ranks, becoming a company commander at by the end of 1939. Eventually, news of his skill reached Hitler himself, and he was invited him to be his personal pilot. Obviously, he accepted.
Drake couls barely belive it. But what really astonished him was when they reached the Berlin Airport, Hitler himself was there to greet the two of them with his retinue. Drake was invited then and there to become an aid to Hitler, and Drake agreed in shock.
Years past. America had entered the war, and France had been reinvaded by the Allies. German forces were being beaten back from Russia. The Allies were sweeping throughout Western Europe, liberating everything in their path. Nazi Germany was faltering. Hitler had no one to call upon. Italy had killed their dictator, Benito Mussilini, and joined the Allies. Japan was fighting its own war in the Pacific against China and the US Marines. Eventually, Hitler's enemies had surrounded Berlin, and the Nazi's got ready for a last stand.
Hitler's sanity was failing. HE called together his most trusted men, including Drake and his friend, and told them of his plans. All but Drake agreed, but he was outnumbered. They would flee, Hitler taking Drake and his friend, while the others made off seperately.
The plan almost worked. Hitler, Drake, and Drake's friend had managed to get to the hidden hanger in Hitler's bunker when they struck. A Nazi Guard, told to let Hitler proceed, did nothing of the sort. After all the assassination attempts Hitler had survived, even he was unable to survive the shot from the handgun the guard carried, nor could Drake's friend escape the following burst from the guard's MP-40. No, both were gunned down in the hanger. Drake disarmed the guard, bit into his neck, and began to feed. He stopped only when he began to hear the shots above and behind him. The Russians had finally made it to the bunker.
He ran to the plane, taking the guard's MP-40 in the process, and made his escape. To this day, no one know's where the famous Gregor Restark is, the name Drake had used publicly as a Nazi.
Around this time, news of the deaths of his other friends reached him. All had died fighting for one country or another in the war.
---
More years went by. Drake went to America once more, under the false name of George Selwyn in memory of the friend that was killed by the vampire. He sent Harvard an annonimous recomendation for a George Selwyn from a community college in San Francisco, California. They took the bait, and Drake was enrolled in Harvard, his one-hundred and fifteenth different university. He studied alot, as he did so in the 1300-1700's. After the forth year, he left, finally decieding he wanted a quiet life somewhere. Less war, less fighting. Finally, in 2006, Drake heard of a town called Hush Hills, in North Carolina. Having spent much time there during both the Revolutionary War and Civil War, Drake thought it would be perfect to move there. So he did, and that is now where he resides.
