The world is not at all as simple as they tell you as a kid. Despite centuries of experience, Mable still sometimes forgot that. Bad guys didn't always lurk in the shadows or cheat to win. Good guys sometimes lacked the red cape and did in fact have the ability to lie. Years and years had passed, she had seen nearly every terror. Blood, war, sickness, unrequited love the list went on through out history, littering the pages of text books.
Decades ago this young woman had stopped openly trusting anyone. No one had proven to her that they were worth it, no one but Emmett. Her one tie to the earth itself besides her own body and now he was gone. True he didn't want to be gone and he had promised to find her but she had the ache that made it feel like it hadn't been forced. She was thinking stupidly though.
Stopping her mind from wandering anymore on the subject she stood from the slightly musty comforter she had laid on, not musty in a bad way but in a well used over the years way. She didn't mind, in fact she liked this place better than places like the Ritz. She walked out the from door to the cozy house and began wandering down a street that was scattered lightly with people.
