Twilight walked along quietly, giving Uyreu time to think. It wasn’t as if the landscape didn’t hold plenty of things to keep a wondering mind entertained. Walking down Main Street certainly had it’s sights. They were also coming up upon the Fifth Leaf Bed and Breakfast. It was a quaint, but beautiful old home transformed into a place for visitors to stay. The house wasn’t very large, but it looked smaller than it was. Twilight had only stayed there once when she first moved here. It was a nice place.
Uyreu then spoke again. Twilight nodded at her answer. If the girl did come up with more questions, she could always ask later. Suddenly the girl yelled out in pain. Twilight turned quickly to the girl to see what the matter was. Uyreu then plucked a thorn from her foot, then stood up like nothing had happened, offering a simple explanation. Twilight nodded, and continued walking with her, though making a mental note that the girl had tough feet.
When Uyreu comment on the name of the town, Twilight smiled softly and nodded. Twilight had very affectionate feelings for the town, thinking the name also suited it well.
”Yes, it does fit rather well. Though it’s getting more action now than it probably ever has in the past.” Twilight answered, her eye brows furrowing ever so slightly at the troubling thought. It concerned Twilight that the most publicity the town was getting was from immortals.
”So how do you like the town so far?” Twilight asked, trying to get her mind off thoughts of her town being invaded by immortals.

Uyreu could tell that there was more behind her words. What does she mean, action? When she was asked a question, she thought for a second. "Yes. It reminds me of Wolverton, that's probably why I enjoy it." Enjoy, that's the right word. "I like the way that I could get to know everyone here, in such a small town." Uyreu then decided to test out the possibility of an uncomfortable question. "So, why had Hush Hills been... busier, lately?" She hope Twilight didn't think she was being too delving.
OOC: Sorry, I know its not 150 words, but I didn't have enough time tonight.

Twilight nodded distractedly as Uyreu talked. However, when the girl asked her a question, her attention re-focused on Uyreu. A slightly bitter smile lightly touched her mouth. That was a good question. It was one that Twilight didn’t have the answer to. She wished she knew though. Oh how she wished. Maybe if she could figure out what was drawing immortals to her town, she could eliminate it. Maybe then her town would be a little safer. Granted, she was getting a lot of excitement, but the excitement was bittersweet. Finally she sighed, shrugging.
”I do not know. Maybe it’s just coincidence, maybe it’s someone here. Again, I have no idea. I wish I knew.” Twilight confessed. She sighed again, but sharper this time, not as weary. Whatever the cause, she still had to do all she could to keep her people safe. It would help to have more in the pack though. Twilight mused. She glanced down at Uyreu, studying the girl, wondering if she could join her little pack.

Uyreu hummed to herself while Twilight was thinking, and then fell silent when she finally said something. She nodded, but she didn't really understand Twilight's heavily said words. Hm... I wonder what really is going on in the little town of Hush Hills... As she continued walking, the werewolf began to notice it was getting chilly outside. She checked her watch, and was surprised to notice that she and Twilight had been chatting for quite a while now. Uyreu gazed up at the sky, and realized that the former periwinkle color had transformed into a darker hue. By the sinking sun, it was now it was more of a Amethyst Blue. On the opposite side, toward the western side of the countryside, it was a deep celestial blue. The girl tore her eyes away from the marvel, only to find Twilight's gaze on her. Confused, Uyreu shaped her face into a questioning expression.

Twilight watched Uyreu nod, but confusion was still written on the girl’s face. The older werewolf realized she probably wasn’t making any sense to someone who just got here. Though even Twilight wasn’t quite sure what was going on. Twilight sighed almost silently, shaking her head slightly and closing her eyes. Opening her eyes, Twilight continued watching as Uyreu looked around. This caused Twilight to look around also. The sun was going down. The girl probably had to go back home or something. And Twilight really should get back to the office.
Looking back down, Twilight saw that Uyreu was looking up at her. The girl had a questioning look on her face, probably wondering why Twilight was staring at her so. A smile spread across Twilight’s face, and she chuckled. Twilight stopped walking, they had gone far enough for the time of day it was, or rather, evening.
”Sorry, I was just thinking. Have you ever lived around other werewolves for any period of time?” Twilight asked her.

Uyreu didn't quite understand Twilight's small laughter, but she didn't say anything. Hm... It seems like there is a lot I have yet to learn about this town. Lost in her own thoughts, Uyreu almost rammed into Twilight when she stopped suddenly. The girl quickly re-found her feet, and then looked up when Twilight asked a question, "No." After a little bit of thought, she added, "Well, my parents used to be werewolves, but they never told me." Uyreu tried not to let her voice sound bitter, as she admitted her dead parents' secret.

The girl still didn’t seem to understand what Twilight was getting at. Oh well. She didn’t have to yet. Or at all, if she didn’t want to get involved. However… they could use the help if she did want to get involved. Twilight felt a slight twinge of her conscious that she actually wanted the girl to get involved. She was so young. She wasn’t just a normal human though, she was also a werewolf. And there were important things that her powers could help with. Twilight sighed, but cocked her head slightly when she said her parents were werewolves. That really piqued her interest. She would have to find out more about that. But that was a conversation for another time. She needed to finish up this one. Twilight had taken enough of the girl’s time for today.
”Well, would you like to? Spend more time with other werewolves? My pack and I would welcome you if you wanted to join.” Twilight said. She realized she was being rather abrupt, but she didn’t want to waste time with useless small talk and ice breaking.

Uyreu almost startled when Twilight asked her another question. Considering her words carefully, she replied, "Well, what do you... do in the pack? I mean..." Her voice trailed off as her word planning stopped there. A pack! I wonder what it would be like, to be in a group of immortals like me. It WOULD be nice to meet some other werewoves, other than Twilight.
After a bit more consideration, she added, "Who is in the pack? Is there anyone I know?" By that, Uyreu meant 'Is there anyone I know who hadn't told me the full truth, that they are a werewolf?'

Twilight chuckled at the girl’s unfinished sentence. Oh how she would like to get inside that girl’s mind. It seemed to be bouncing every which way. Twilight could see the wheels turning inside the girl’s mind, almost hear hazy thoughts zipping around like scenery outside a fast moving vehicle. Patience… Twilight told herself. She opened her mouth to answer the girl’s question but was cut off by another question from the girl. Twilight snorted quietly, a mildly irritated sound for being interrupted.
”Well, mainly we watch out for Hush Hills. Patrols around the town. Hero work, protecting the city from immortals. Keeping peace. Et cetera. Twilight paused momentarily before continuing.
”And unless you know a boy named Phoenix, Nix for short, then no.” Twilight grinned sarcastically.
”We don’t often get recruits.” Twilight finished with a wry smile. They usually didn’t allow other immortals to stay long enough to present the question of joining the pack.

Uyreu nodded at Twilight's answer. "So, you guys are... the..." The girl twisted her mouth to one side as she thought of the right word, "Guardians of the town?" When the older werewolf mentioned the name of one of the immortals in the pack, she replied, "No, I've never heard of him." As Twilight finished her short speech, the young immortal let a confused expression spread across her face. "What do you mean, do most werewolves not want to join the pack?" Another thought crossed her mind as soon as she said that. Or are the werewolves the kind of immortals that Twilight wants herded out of her town. Uyreu's uncle, who she calls Uncle Raksa, had often warned her about the "bad" immortals, the ones that would prefer to kill humans instead of animals. Many more questions swarmed through Uyreu's mind, but she waited for Twilight to answer.

Twilight chuckled at Uyreu’s question.
”Yes, that’s exactly how it is.” Twilight confirmed. And the town could certainly use it. Some people had died in the past from immortal attacks when Twilight couldn’t get there first. Nix had been the direct result of another immortal attack. He hadn’t died, but his life was changed forever. Literally. Though now that there had been two werewolves to protect the town, no one had been injured. At least not to her knowledge. Still, Twilight and Nix had gotten into some pretty nasty scrapes, the two of them. Help was always welcome. And help was starting to come, in the form of vampire allies though. But help was help, and she wasn’t about to turn it down.
Uyreu speaking again snapped her out of her thoughts. She had thought as much, and nodded. Twilight didn’t know if Uyreu went to the school in Hush Hills, but the girl was a few grades under Nix, so it wasn’t likely they had met yet. Nix had been a little distracted the last few days, but then again school did just start. Though Twilight had scented the same girl on him the last few times she had been around him, maybe Nix had a new girlfriend. Again, Twilight’s mind had wandered, so she paused a few seconds, waiting for her brain to register what Uyreu had said. And a wry smile appeared on her face when she did.
”Most of the other immortals get run off before they can. It’s too dangerous to allow most immortals around the town. Too many people have been hurt when they don’t.” Twilight said, a slightly sad smile on her face. Suddenly, she glanced at her watch.
”Well, thank you for chatting with me, but I must get back to the clinic. Let me know if you’re interested.” Twilight said, politely dismissing herself.

Uyreu nodded again. "Ok, I'll think about it." She began to walk in the direction of her uncle's house, but paused. Turning around, she called back to Twilight, "I'll visit you sometime again."
