Uyreu Clarke stepped lightly down Main Street. The girl was visiting the vet, and werewolf, Twilight. Uyreu wondered if she would ask anything about her immortalness. She tilted her head up, and felt the late morning sun warming the skin on her bare arms. Uyreu was happy she was not a vampire at the moment. She checked a street sign to make sure she was on the right road. Uggh, Main Street. There is one of those in every town. Looking from right to left, she noticed a sign outside of one building, labeled TLC Vet Clinic. This must be it. As she entered the office, a bell announced her arrival. Uyreu looked around the building, and didn't see anyone. Perhaps I should have called first. Stepping up to the counter, she looked about the back area, and then called, "Ms. Twilight? Are you here?" She leaned over the counter, peering back into the area.

Twilight was in the back room. The day was slow, but then again, how many animals would need checkups today in such a small town? Accidents or emergency appointments or house calls were much more common. Twilight meticulously cleaned her tools. After she was done with that she tidied up the other supplies. She was in the middle of this when the bell above the door rang. The sound was getting less annoying as time went on, but it could still grate on her nerves. It would seem kind of odd though if one was missing. Twilight of course didn’t need it, but humans didn’t have the enhanced senses of a werewolf.
Uyreu’s scent entered the room Twilight was in soon after the bell rang. Twilight blinked once in surprise. She didn’t expect the young wolf to actually come. Most wolves avoided each other, unless they already knew each other. Twilight shrugged to herself, and walked out into the waiting room. Twilight smiled when she saw Uyreu.
”Hello, nice of you to stop by.” Twilight said curiously. She wondered if Uyreu had come just to chat, or if she wanted something specifically.

Uyreu smiled. She enjoyed being around the werewolf. It seemed nice to Uyreu to have someone else like her. She had always been so different, even in her young years. Although she enjoyed not being similar to other people, she was glad to have met another werewolf, some who she can ask questions. That was the main reason why she was here. To ask the questions she had been twiddling around in her mind ever since she changed. Where did werewolves come from? I mean, who was the first werewolf? She looked at Twilighit as she spoke. "I just wanted to ask you..." Her voice trailed off. What was I planning to say in the first place? 'Excuse me, Ms. Twilight, I would like to ask you about being a werewolf, I've always wanted to be one.' The truth was, she had, in a part of her mind, wanted to be one, or at least different. She had never wanted to grow up normal like all the other children.

Twilight nodded after figuring out what Uyreu had come for. It didn’t surprise her, and Twilight kind of liked talking about their species with other werewolves. However, the waiting room of a vet’s office wasn’t the place to be talking of such secretive things.
”Let’s talk in the back. We have more comfortable chairs there.” Twilight smiled and motioned to the door she had just come through. She then turned around and opened the door for Uyreu, then walked through herself. Going down a hall, she turned left. The hallway opened to a lounge/break area. Twilight had made sure that there was a comfortable place for her employing to relax in between jobs. The room was filled with comfortable chairs and low couches. Twilight took a light blue, padded chair, then waved to the one across from her. Once settled, Twilight looked at Uyreu.
”I’m sure you have a lot of questions. Feel free to ask anything you like, just don’t mind if I ask you some in return. You know we are both werewolves, and I know that you haven’t been one for very long. Once you get used to your senses, there are so many things you will learn alone from scent.” Twilight said, starting off the conversation.

Uyreu found herself leaning forward in anticipation. Finally, her questions would be answered. Truth would finally be revealed to her. The young werewolf searched her mind to try to find one question that stood above the others. She had so many confusions, that she didn't know where to start. Uyreu's eyes flashed as one formed in her mind. She wanted to know about the blood sucking immortals that are the enemies of werewolves. She looked at her own bare feet as she asked this. "I want to know about vampires." After she asked, her mind moved over to what Twilight was going to ask about her. Probably something about when Uyreu became a werewolf, and how. Uyreu hoped that the two would not eventually go into an uncomfortable silence as did with her grandmother. It would hopefully be different with another immortal explaining to me now. Uyreu wondered if she should ask how Twilight became one. I might seem to inquisitive.

Twilight leaned backward, settling into a more comfortable position, waiting for her to find a question to ask. She could see her mind shifting through the many questions she had. When she picked the one about vampires, Twilight blinked once in surprise. It was a little odd that the girl wanted to know about vampires more than werewolves. She didn’t expect this question. But she knew how to answer it.
”Well, that’s kind of a complex topic. Vampire: living dead, transmitted by a bite since they are venomous, drinks only blood, only way to kill them is to burn them…” Twilight rattled off.
”What specifically do you want to know about them? I love answering questions so please don’t be shy.” Twilight said, smiling. Twilight could see hesitation in her eyes. This was one thing she didn’t mind doing for her fellow immortals, answering questions. As long as she didn’t suspect they would turn on her, or use that information against people she liked.

A moment after the question flew out of her mouth, she regretted it. Twilight is expecting me to ask about werewolves, not vampires. She shifted in her seat uncomfortably. "Er, well. Never mind," Then she looked around at the room she was in. There were a great number of places to sit and rest. This must be a lounge of some sort. Then she looked right at Twilight's clothing. It looked too professional to be just an outfit. "What do you do here? Are you a vet?" Of course she works here, what else would she bee doing in the employee lounge with a work outfit on. She opened her mouth to ask another question for Twilight, she rethought it. Her grandmother’s stern advice echoed in her ear. It is very rude to ask many questions at one time. So she held her tongue and waited for the older werewolf to answer.

Twilight waited patiently while Uyreu struggled uncomfortably. She would rather the girl spout off questions, but courtesy seemed to keep her from doing that. As Uyreu explored the room with her eyes, Twilight took the time to study her more closely. That day at the train station didn’t give her much time to do her favorite thing, study people. The girl had long wavy brown hair with straight across bangs. She was a pretty girl, a…
When Uyreu asked another question, it jarred Twilight from her observation. She blinked as she came out from her thoughts. Twilight gave an amused smile a Uyreu’s next question.
”Yes. This is actually my vet clinic, and I’m the senior veterinarian here.” Twilight answered. They still were not getting anywhere with this. Maybe she should try a different approach to get Uyreu to grow more comfortable.
”Now, my turn. What was… Wolverton… like?” Twilight asked, pausing at the name of the unfamiliar city.

Uyreu gave a mental smile at Twilight's pause at the name of her home town. Now many people have ever heard of the small village of Wolverton. "Ah, it's the same as other places, I guess." She spoke without her usual formality, hoping to loosen the tight mood that was going on here. "It's a small town, so there aren’t many people around, and most of the people are friendly." Uyreu pondered whether or not to ask Twilight how she got to be an immortal. Then other questions formed in her mind. Bah to formality! "How did you become an immortal? How old where you? When did you meet your first other immortal?" The questions seemed to flow out of her like the stream behind her house. She realized just how lucky she was. How many other people have another werewolf to ask questions? This was so exciting! The weeks of wondering were finally over. How far away my human life seems now.

A pleased smile crept upon Twilight’s face. The girls hometown sounded like it was similar to Hush Hills. Twilight loved small towns. Maybe if she ever visited the UK, she could visit Wolverton. How things were going now though, it wasn’t likely that Twilight could spare a vacation. With immortals filling the town, there was much for her to do and many for her to protect. I wonder if someone would take over for me for a while… Twilight asked herself curiously. She sighed mentally though, knowing she would never rest easy with the fate of her town in the hands of anyone but herself. Oh well.
Finally the girl started speaking and asking questions. Though the girl’s quiet politeness was charming, it didn’t make conversation like theirs easy. Small talk wasn’t Twilight’s thing.
”I was five when I became an immortal. My parents were visiting Maine one Christmas, and I stayed out a little too late one night… and was attacked.” Twilight answered easily. Many werewolves had horrible memories of being turned. Though her memory wasn’t pretty, it marked the day of Twilight’s new life, and was never seen as a bad thing.
”And I was ten when I met my first immortal, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.” Twilight chuckled, remembering the first time she realized the old man three blocks down was a werewolf.

Uyreu nodded at Twilight's story of how she became an immortal. It was very similar to her own. She nodded again. "Ah, I was exploring the 'Forbidden Woods'." Uyreu smiled at her own name for the woods that bordered the back of her house. The actual name was Fenugreek, but Uyreu never bothered to try to pronounce it. Her smile was lost as she remembered the party. The party where Uyreu and her friend, ventured into the trees after hearing a story of creatures in Fenugreek Forest. Investigative Uyreu urged her friend to accompany her to go search for the creature. Her friend agreed, and they snuck out the back door. When they were a good distance away, the animals struck. Uyreu jerked her head back as a thought crossed her mind. If a costumer were to come in at this moment, it would seem very strange to them to see a young girl just sitting in the back, talking to a woman. It would be a uncomfortable circumstance. She stood up. "Perhaps we should take a walk around Main Street?"

Twilight raised an eyebrow.
”I didn’t know places still had ‘Forbidden Woods’.” Twilight murmured. Uyreu seemed to smile at the memory of that childhood place. Twilight was curious, wanting to ask more questions. However, this was Uyreu’s turn to ask questions to her heart’s content, not Twilight’s. Then Uyreu’s facial expression changed, the smile gone. Concern flashed over Twilight’s face for a moment, wondering what the girl was thinking about.
Then Uyreu jerked out of her reverie with a start. Twilight smiled lightly at Uyreu. The young girl stood up, and suggested they go out for a walk.
”Alright, let’s go.” Twilight said, nodding. She stood up and stretched briefly. Twilight then walked out of the lounge room, down the hall, and to the front room, looking over her shoulder every now and then to make sure Uyreu was following. Twilight pushed lightly on the door that led to the outside, letting in a rectangle of light into the vet’s office. She walked out of the door, smiling as the warm sun went to work warming her skin. Twilight now looked at Uyreu once she was outside.
”Which way do you want to go?” Twilight asked.

OOC: Sorry it took so long for me to post.... Uyreu followed Twilight down the hall and eventually out the door. When she reached the sidewalk bordering the road, she paused, waiting for Twilight to take the lead. Then she was asked a question. Uyreu shrugged, looking down the way. "Well, what is down each of the roads?" The girl asked. I guess it all depends on that... After gazing to the right, and then the left, she still hadn't made a decision. She noticed that the road seemed to be on a tilt. The left way stretches downward, maybe to the lake, and that would be easier to walk down. But the right way we should take, while we aren't tired. It has always been hard for Uyreu to make choices. "Left, I suppose." Uyreu started walking in that direction, and then realized that it would be better if Twilight went ahead. She slowed to her pace, and then began to admire the autumn growth surrounding her. Tall, leafy branches stretched out to greet the still morning sun, while tall grasses swirled back and forth in the breeze. This was a day, were you couldn't help but feel alive. "What is down this way?" Uyreu asked curiously.

Twilight waited, letting her mind wander a little while Uyreu waited to make up her mind. It was a pretty nice day to go for a walk. The sun was shining, but as usual there was a slight breeze to keep things from getting too hot. Twilight’s eyes lingered on the door of her vet clinic. She stepped around Uyreu, to the front door. Slipping around the door, Twilight flipped the ‘open’ sign to ‘be back later’. Twilight had a separate closed sign, since she often times had to step out of the office when no one else was working.
When Twilight got back, it seemed as though Uyreu was still making up her mind. Well at least she’s not too hasty when making decisions. Twilight thought to herself, an amused smile on her face. Then Uyreu picked a direction. Twilight headed down the street after Uyreu. The girl slowed, allowing Twilight to pull ahead. Twilight was then asked a question.
”Well, this will head down to the park if you follow the street long enough. But the medical clinic, the sheriff’s office and the local bed and breakfast is also that way.” Twilight answered.
”So, are there any other questions you have for me?” Twilight asked, keeping her eyes on the surrounding scenery.

Uyreu thought about that for a moment. Questions... Questions... After thinking about it for a moment, the girl replied, "I don't think so." She reached out her hand to brush a tree branch that was trailing down. The early autumn leaves were just beginning to turn browns and reds, but they hadn't fallen yet. "I think it is your turn to ask me something." A second after she asked that, there was a sharp pain, originating on the bottom of her foot. "Ow!" She exclaimed, and then stopped walking. Stooping down to an almost sitting level, she lifted her foot and turned it over. A large thorn poked out at her. She sighed quietly, and then used her worn fingernails to pluck the protrusion. Then she stood up again, and then smiled. "There was a thorn." Then she resumed walking, and admiring the landscape set before her. As the two were walking downhill, it gave her a impeccable view of the more pleasant part of North Carolina. Hills stretched out before her, seeming to bob up and down as a illusion. "Hush Hills is a good name for this town."
