When Nix spoke, Elizabeth narrowed her eyes ever slightly. Her gaze suddenly hardened, face turning to stone. Anger bubbled up behind her features, threatening to bring color to her face. She rarely ever blushed, but this could turn into one of those rare moments. If there was any thing he could have said to make the conversation worse than it already was, that was it. People all too often assumed Elizabeth didn’t know what she was talking about or “didn’t understand” just because she happened to disagree with them. This always stung. Elizabeth took it as a personal hit to her intelligence. Her jaw clenched, holding back a number of nasty things.
”Well why don’t you go find someone who does understand then.” She said. With that, she hopped off the counter, and motioned to the door angrily. Before he could have a chance to speak, Elizabeth marched to the front door and opened it wide. Elizabeth’s resolve wavered ever slightly. It wasn’t that she really wanted him to go now, but she wasn’t going to take that little comment. Elizabeth crossed her arms and waited. Well this turned sour quickly
